Grade 7 Campers
Kootenay Plains Base Camp   Gear List
You get to do a 4 day, exciting 2-in-1 trip in the beautiful Kootenay Plains Base Camp with activities including rock climbing and day hiking.

The camp you set up is home for four days: your food, sleeping bag, tent, evening campfire...everything you need!

   
   
Grade 8 Campers
Backpacking Adventure   Gear List
Backpacking in the mountains west of Pioneer, you will trek to pristine alpine lakes and awesome ridge lines. Plus, you'll get to choose where to set up your camp!    
   
Grade 9-12 Campers
Backpacking   Gear List
Grade 9 Campers
Your 4 day outtrip will be into the Kootenay Plains backcountry, taking you farther and higher than your grade 8 trip plus you’ll move camp each night!

Grade 10-12 Campers
You will be on a true mountain backpacking trip,
trekking through the breath-taking Rocky Mountains for 5 days while moving your campsite with you. Trips may include the Alpine Lake Circuit or Farley Basin Exploration.

   
     
Canoeing   Gear List
Feel the spray of the white-water, the rush of surfing, as you paddle down the North Saskatchewan River's many great rapids. When your cabin is ready to call it a day, you’ll choose a spot right alongside the river to camp for the night.

Trips selected are based on previous experience and are 4 days long for grade 9’s and 5 days for grade 10-12’s.

   
     
Horseback Riding   Gear List
You get the amazing opportunity to take skills you’ve learned in the riding arena and build on them in a more challenging atmosphere as you learn how to camp with your horse. You’ll see rivers, waterfalls, meadows, valleys, mountain passes, and peaks while you are exploring the fabulous foothills.

Trips, either a base camp or pack trip, will be selected based on your previous experience. Length of outtrip is 4 days for grade 9’s and 5 days for grade 10-12’s.

   
     
Mountain Biking   Gear List
Endless options exist for where you can go on your trip! Set up a base camp and explore rolling alpine meadows or the beautiful Red Deer River Valley. You will experience the wind in your hair and challenging yourself on whichever trail you ride.

Trip locations will be dependent on numbers of campers and ages.
