Preparation
In order to climb a mountain one must be prepared for the expedition. A well cooked meal shared with companions is a great way to end a day of discerning and path finding.
Location
Choosing the right location to set up camp will ensure the best rest with the least impact on the wilderness. Knowing how to care for one’s equipment gives long life to it and keeps it working through to the end of the trip.
Finishing Well
To finish the journey well all teammates are needed. The climb provides opportunities to learn helpful ways of solving problems that arise. One is invited to lead and make decisions at various points in order to practice and develop those skills necessary to lead others on trips up a mountain.
Interruptions
At times the climb will be interrupted. This may be due to weather or some other element that is out of the control of the team. As a leader, having a set of tools such as games, stories, or activities will make time pass quickly and joyfully until you can be on your way again. |
