Bouldering
Climb horizontally across a low wall with a buddy to spot you. Available at Pioneer Ranch only.
Hayrides
Pile on the wagon and tour across Pioneer land (up to 20 people). Available at Pioneer Lodge only.
Hiking
Explore creeks, meadows and forest, guided by
Pioneer staff or on your own.
Horse
Care
Learn horse care essentials such as grooming, saddling, colours, health, feeding,
and tack.
Horseback Riding
Ages 9 and up
Ride on the trail or in the arena.
All levels of ability are welcome.
Up to 21 youth/students and 3 adults at one time (One adult chaperone accompanies
every seven youth/students).
Helmets are required and provided for all participants.
Lake Canoeing (May to October)
Practice paddling skills in voyageur or 17-foot canoes on Crimson Lake. Available at Pioneer Ranch only.
Orienteering
Learn how to read and interpret maps to find specified locations in forests and
meadows.
Outdoor Camping Skills
Learn fundamental outdoor skills such as knot-tying, shelter-building, knife and
axe use, fire-building, and outdoor cooking skills.
Pony Rides
Ride horses led by Pioneer staff in the outdoor or covered arenas.
An ideal corral activity for youth aged 8 and under.
Pool Swimming (June to August)
Enjoy water sports in the outdoor heated pool (up to 35 people). Available at Pioneer Lodge only.
Predator & Prey Game
Experience life as an animal in the food chain! Hunt, run, search for food and
water to survive.
Sport Climbing
Scale the 28-foot or 33-foot climbing wall by tackling the flat face or the overhang.
Available in warm, dry weather.
Team-Building Program
Build trust and strengthen your communication and problem solving skills and
while tackling various team challenges.
Two stages: 1) Team-Building Games and 2) the Initiative Task Course.

Basketball hoop, portable volleyball net, sports balls. Ping-pong & foosball tables are also available at Pioneer Lodge.
Tuck Shop
If desired, purchase clothing (t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats etc.), books, mugs, and of course, candy at Pioneer’s on-site store. Open year-round at Pioneer Lodge and May to October at Pioneer Ranch.
